CLEVELAND, Ohio – Police have arrested a youth in connection with a September shootout in the Flats that injured six people, authorities said.

Officers tried to pull over a car on East 46th Street and Carnegie Avenue, but the driver fled. That’s when an Ohio State Highway Patrol helicopter tracked the car to where it stopped at the 2000 block of West 52nd Street.

The two occupants fled the car and ran, but they were arrested shortly after, police said.

The driver, a 17-year-old whom police have not identified, was arrested on a warrant involving the mass shooting in September.

He was charged in Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court with six counts of felonious assault, firing a gun near a prohibited place, possessing a gun while under age and improperly handling weapons in a motor vehicle,
