DEARBORN COUNTY, Ind. (WXIX) - A Dearborn County man was arrested Friday on several felony theft charges after he stole tens of thousands of dollars from a local civic organization, according to Indiana State Police.

Brett Allen Hamilton, 46, has been charged with felony fraud, theft over $50,000, money laundering, corrupt business influence and official misconduct following a three-month investigation into his time as president of Dillsboro Civic Club, Sgt. Stephen Wheeles said in a post .

During the investigation, detectives discovered that Hamilton stole thousands from the club’s funds between 2018 and 2025 and used the money for personal use.

A warrant was issued by county prosecutors and Hamilton was arrested without incident in Lawrenceburg.
