Thanksgiving is a time for family and it has us thinking of a family-owned craft brewery in rural Ontario built on a farm field owned by the same lineage for seven generations and with entrepreneurship learned from a car dealership.

GL Heritage Brewing, located in Essex County near Amherstburg, is owned by brothers Greg and Dwayne Grondin and their wives, Jen Desjardins and Cathy Grondin. Each has a key role with the brewery, which is fast approaching its 10th anniversary.

The name is a nod to GL Heritage Motors, the car lot and garage business Greg and Dwayne’s dad, Don, owned with a friend in Amherstburg.
