STANARDSVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Several animals died in a house fire yesterday in the 3800 block of Spotswood Trail.

Emergency services personnel responded to the blaze at approximately 5:40 p.m. The homeowner was not on the premises and was promptly accounted for, but four dogs and two ferrets died.
