CALDWELL, Texas (KBTX) - It was homecoming night in Caldwell as the Hornets squared off with the Giddings Buffaloes in front of a packed crowd. The Hornets didn’t disappoint, rolling to a 44-14 win.

Players from Caldwell wore green armbands and No.9 stickers on their helmets to honor Lexington’s Jurian Moore, who was injured in last week’s game.

Why they won

Caldwell’s offense set the tone early and never let up. Quarterback Korbin Burns opened the game with a long touchdown run on the opening drive, giving the Hornets a 6-0 lead.

Running back Coy Becka added two more scores in the first half, one from five yards out and another on a 78-yard sprint from his own 22. By halftime, Caldwell held a commanding 38-7
