CLEVELAND, Ohio – A 16-year-old boy was killed and another teen was seriously injured Friday at Rainbow Terrace Apartments.

Cleveland Police Sgt. Wilfredo Diaz said the incident took place just after noon at the complex on Garden Valley Drive on the city’s East Side. The 16-year-old and a 14-year-old suffered gunshot wounds.

Cleveland City Councilman Richard Starr told cleveland.com and The Plain Dealer that witnesses said the two youths, who had been feuding, met in a hallway and began fighting. They then pulled out guns, he said.

The shooting came four months after a devastating fire and explosion at the complex that killed Cordale Sheffield, 30, and seriously burned two children.
