Tyler Fuscaldo’s second rushing touchdown of the night with 4:14 remaining gave Dayton a lead it never relinquished as it defeated Spotswood, 20-19, in Springfield.

Fuscaldo’s 6-yard rushing TD gave Dayton (5-1) a 20-13 lead, one which stuck thanks to a pair of critical defensive plays by the junior RB/LB.

Se’mir Tolbert-Brimage ran for a 14-yard TD with 1:18 left for Spotswood (6-1). After an offsides call, Spotswood elected to go for the two-point conversion, but was stonewalled as Fuscaldo was the first of multiple Dayton defenders to hit Tolbert-Brimage short of the goalline.

Dayton’s Nate Radler recovered the ensuing onside kick, but was unable to get run out the clock in full, giving Spotswood one play at the Dayton 48 with three seconds left.
