Shubman Gill scored his fifth Test century in just seven Tests as India captain after getting to the three-figure mark on Saturday in just 177 balls against West Indies at the New Delhi Test. Gill hit 14 boundaries and a six against the West Indies in the first innings of the second Test.

This is Gill’s 10th Test century overall for India.

This has been one of Gill’s best years in the longest format of the game. In 2025, Gill has crossed 940 runs in 14 innings in Tests at an average of 72.3. He’s maintained a strike rate of 62.29 while scoring one half century as well.

With Gill’s century, Indian team edged closer to the 500-run mark. Earlier, opener Yashasvi Jaiswal had been run out on 175 after a mix-up involving Gill, while Sai Sudharsan had chipped in with a fluent 87.
