An 87-year Manchester United record could be in jeopardy if Kobbie Mainoo leaves the club in January.

The academy product has found regular playing time hard to come by under manager Ruben Amorim this season. Despite being on the bench for the Reds' opening two Premier League matches, Mainoo has only been used as a substitute in the last five games and is yet to be deployed in the starting XI.

His sole start this season was in a Carabao Cup defeat to League Two side Grimsby Town back in August. Over the summer transfer window, there were rumours of Mainoo wanting to leave Old Trafford with the England international expressing his wish to go out on loan.
