Srinagar, Oct 11: Cabinet Minister Javid Ahmad Dar on Saturday said that the Omar Abdullah-led government was making efforts to fully restore the traditional Darbar Move practice in Jammu and Kashmir from this winter.

Talking to reporters on the sidelines of the launch of two centrally sponsored schemes in Baramulla, Dar said, “The government is trying to ensure the complete restoration of the Darbar Move system which has been an integral part of Jammu and Kashmir’s administrative setup for decades.”

He added that the District Development Commissioner (DDC) has been directed to look into any instances of agricultural land being converted for commercial purposes. “DC Sahab is doing good work here. Action will be taken against violations of land use laws,” Dar said according to news agency
