SAINT ANSGAR— “Just run hard.”
That was Korben Michels’s mentality as he had 189 rushing yards and five touchdowns in Saint Ansgar’s game against Clayton Ridge on Friday night.
The No. 1 Saint Ansgar Saints (7-0) took down the Clayton Ridge Eagles (4-3) 55-8 in a huge district matchup. The Saints got off to a quick start and kept their momentum up for the entire game.
The Saints made a few costly mistakes in the form of penalties throughout the game. They didn’t let it deter them as they let their play on the field speak for itself.
“Our kids played well up front for the most part on both sides of the ball,” Saint Ansgar head coach Drew Clevenger said. “We had a lot of self-inflicted mistakes on the night, so we’ll try and get those corrected. I’m very proud of the kids’ effort.”
