Kapurthala Police seize illegal property of drug traffickers

Sultanpur Lodhi (Kapurthala), October 11, 2025: Under the Punjab government’s “War Against Drugs” campaign, the police in Sech village, Sultanpur Lodhi, took action against a couple involved in drug trafficking by demolishing a house illegally constructed on panchayat land.

The accused, Sarbjit Singh alias Babbi and his wife Jaspal Kaur alias Suman, had occupied roughly 7 marlas of panchayat land to build their residence. Both are facing multiple cases under the NDPS Act, with the husband charged in 10 cases and the wife in 7 cases.

According to SSP Gaurav Toora, the police acted on orders from the BDPO Sultanpur Lodhi, following repeated notices issued under Section 34 of the Punjab Panchayati Raj Act, 1994,
