DES MOINES, Iowa —

A little on the chilly side across the state this morning, but temperatures rebound back to around 70 by this afternoon, a really nice fall day. A little taste of summer returns on Sunday ahead of our next rain chance.

Clear overnight allowed temperatures to drop into the mid-40s, with some upper 30s making an appearance over northern Iowa. Clouds will filter into our skies throughout the morning, and stick around through most of the day. While we will see sunshine, it won't be quite the bright blue skies that we saw on Friday. Temperatures should warm back into the 60s by Noon, with afternoon highs topping out around 70 degrees. Cooler than yesterday, but still above average for the middle of October.
