SHELDON, Vt. (WCAX) - A teen was killed in a crash after running from a trooper that was trying to pull her over, Vermont State Police say.

VSP says around 6:30 p.m. Friday, one of their troopers tried to pull over a car that was speeding on Vermont Route 105, just west of Colton Road in the town of Sheldon.

Police say instead of stopping, the driver speed away and the trooper stopped trying to pull the car over.

About two minutes later, the trooper reportedly came across the scene of a crash involving the car that had sped away.

Investigators say after running from the trooper, the car had gone onto the shoulder of the road, then swerved across both lanes and hit a pickup truck.

Police say the car’s driver, Aryanna Flemming, 18, of Enosburgh, was killed.
