'Kantara: Chapter 1' is based on worshipping nature and ancestors . Since, Gulshan also hails from Karnataka, when asked about his own experience with regard to connecting with roots and family tradition, he said, "I have seen these things a lot. I am from Karnataka. My maternal grandfather (Nana ji) used to take me there. I am from Kodagu, a small, hilly region in Karnataka. However, I was born and raised in Bangalore. I used to go to Kodagu during my holidays."
