UFC Fight Night 261 takes place Saturday, and you can join us for live round-by-round coverage and official results beginning at 7 p.m. ET (4 p.m. PT) from Farmasi Arena in Rio de Janeiro (ESPN+).

In the headliner, former lightweight champion and future UFC Hall of Famer Charles Oliveira (35-11 MMA, 23-11 UFC) looks to defend home soil in Brazil against Mateusz Gamrot (25-3 MMA, 8-3 UFC). In addition, former two-time flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo (24-5-1 MMA< 13-5-1 UFC) takes on Montel Jackson (15-2 MMA, 9-2 UFC) in the co-main event.

Jhonata Diniz vs. Mario Pinto

Round 1 – Pinto with a nicely executed level change for a takedown as Diniz closes distance to get things started. He's on top and in control early in side control. Pinto gets to the mount, and Diniz could be in trouble. Now Pinto mixing in ground-and-pound as Diniz is able to escape mount a second time. It's been good defense for Diniz until Pinto transitions into a crucifix and lands HARD elbows, which forces Diniz to scramble and gets his rm into serious trouble. Wow, I can't believe Diniz fought off that Kimura, his elbow was bent badly. Still, what a start for Pinto who takes that 10-9 easy. NOT QUITE a 10-8.

Round 2 – One minute in, and Pinto takes down Diniz and here we go again. This could be another long round for Diniz. Pinto isn't immediately getting crazy with his attack, just some stead elbows from half guard getting through. Almost a full escape and reverse from Diniz pushing off the cage, but nope. Pinto remains in control and mounts him once again. Big trouble incoming for Diniz? We've got blood after a 12-6 elbow lands from Pinto, 90 seconds remain. Now Pinto pops up and just starts raining punches down. Diniz can't defend himself, and there it is. Referee stops it. Absolute mauling by Pinto.

Kaan Ofli vs. Ricardo Ramos

Round 1 – That escalated quickly with Ramos catching a kick, falling to the mat and immediately working on a knee bar. Crazy scramble, but Ofli does an excellent job defending and then reversing position, NASTY neck crank for a few seconds, but Ramos gets out of it. Only problem is that he still has Ofli on his back and is carrying him as they stand. Ofli is making Ramos uncomfortable. He's got the body triangle locked in, too, which is why he's stuck. Now Ofli has the rear-naked choke under the chin, and wow Ramos taps out. What a turn of events for Ofli, who gets his first UFC win after a scary opening sequence.

Lucas Almeida vs. Michael Aswell

Round 1 – Much to the chagrin of the Brazilian fans, Aswell clips Almeida quickly with two right hands, which opens the door for him to swarm for the finish. Almeida fends off the flurry of punches for as long as he can, but it's too much. Impressive TKO win for Aswell. Almeida never really had a chance.

Clayton Carpenter vs. Jafel Filho

Round 1 – Big right hand from Filho about 50 seconds in gives us the first "whoa" moment, but Carpenter responds with a nice left hook moments later and is on the attack. They clinch with about 3:30 remaining near the fence. Good work from Filho with an inside trip and transitioning to taking the back. Carpenter could be in trouble here as they sit straight up against the fence. Now Filho has scooted away and has the space to hunt for the neck while having the body triangle. Filho is in control, but Carpenter finally manages to scoot his hips off and is now on top. EXCEPT Filho transitions to a kimura, flips him over, and that's it. That was an IMPRESSIVE submission from Filho.

Thomas Petersen vs. Vitor Petrino

Round 1 – An early takedown attempt from Petrino results in a long clinch near the cage. Petersen is making Petrino work hard 90 seconds into it. They're kind of at a stand still with 3 minutes remaining, but the ref is letting it go on. Now Petersen is working for a takedown after he reverses position, and he's got Petrino's back standing. More than halfway through, and this has been a dull grappling match. Finally they separate with 1:50 to go, and Petrino lands a huge shot that drops Petersen, and now he's swarming for the finish. Petersen is defending well, and things calm down. This ends up being a strong finish to the round for Petrino, who takes it 10-9.

Round 2 – Sloppy first couple of minutes to this round. Petrino lazily shoots and wastes energy failing to get a takedown. Both men are moving noticeably slower. Nothing happening for the most part until Petersen finally drags Petrino down to the mat, but they're back up quickly. Petersen on his back near the cage, and then a standing kimura attempt from Petrino separates them. Petrino does land a hard left hook, but it's just the one punch. These guys are just walking around each other. Sloppy, ugly round. I guess we go 10-9 Petrino?

Round 3 – I have a feeling this round is going to be even uglier. Here we go. ... WELL, HOLY SH*T ONE PUNCH, AND PETERSEN IS ASLEEP! Wowzers. That was instant on a terrible entry by Petersen, who ducks right into the punch. Body went limp. Damn.

Irina Alekseeva vs. Bia Mesquita

Round 1 – First big punch of the fight is Mesquita clipping Irina with a right hand. She clinches quickly, takes down Irina and immediately lands in mount and immediately starts raining big punch on Irina. The onslaught is relentless until Irina controls posture for a moment, bit now it's a continued calculated array of punches from Mesquita, still has the mount with 2 minutes left. Now Mesquita has Irina right arm controlled around her neck and his throwing hard elbows. What a terrible position for Irina right now, pure domination from Mesquita and still 1 minute remains. Irina's face is busted up, yowzers. Man, how Irina made it to the bell is beyond me That was utter domination from Mesquita. I'm going 10-8. She could've gotten the finish.

Round 2 – Good news for Irina: They start a new round standing! ... Irina screws up by winging a long right hand from the outside that opens up a takedown for Mesquita, and here we go. Still 3:30 left, not good for Irina with Mesquita on top. With 2:55 left, Mesquita quickly takes the back and immediately locks in the rear-naked choke, and that leaves Irina NO CHOICE but to tap out. What a dominant performance from Mesquita in her UFC debut. Looks like she can be something big in the women's bantamweight division.

Stewart Nicoll vs. Lucas Rocha

Round 1 – Nicoll southpaw, Rocha orthodox stance to open things up. ... Rocha landing nicely in the early moments with a couple of right hands. These guys are moving fast. Nicoll lands a nice body kick, which slows down Rocha's volume, but he resumes quickly and finds success. Halfway through the round, Nicoll shoots in for a nice double leg and gets Rocha down, but he's not giving up the position easily and scrambles up to his feet with Nicoll on his back, 2 minutes remaining. Rocha is defending well, but Nicoll is committed to this takedown. Rocha, however, breaks free and lands a bug uppercut after they separate.; Best punch of the round with 1 minute left. Strong second half for Rocha gives him the round 10-9.

Round 2 – The first minute looks like a scrap, with both guys throwing and landing their share, but Rocha seems to be landing harder and better. Rocha is picking his shots nicely, and he stops a Nicoll takedown attempt. He stands over Nicoll not wanting to engage on the mat, which is smart. Rocha looks good standing. He's finishes a couple of combos with Thai clinch knees. The attack is more versatile. Nicoll shoots with about 90 seconds left and gets stuffed again. He's gonna have to respond striking to get back into this. To his credit, Nicoll isn't folding as Rocha continues to land from all directions. It's a fast-paced conclusion to an exciting round that clearly goes 10-9 for Rocha again.

Round 3 – Rocha is still showing that he's quicker to the punch in the first minute. He's in firm control and needs to just make sure he doesn't get caught. Another shot from Nicoll is stuffed, and this time Rocha keeps his head locked but nothing doing. Nicoll lands his best punches, including an uppercut, but Rocha eats them nicely and responds with his own combos that land. Nicoll finally lands a takedown, but Rocha immediately reverses. That's discouraging for Nicoll, who is running out of time and ideas with about 90 seconds remaining. A little bit of razzle dazzle from both men, rolling thunder kicks, results in Rocha then suplexing Nicoll to the canvas. But they stand up and finish off the round trading shots. Another strong finish for Rocha, who wins the round 10-9 and should take this fight 30-27.

Karolina Kowalkiewicz vs. Julia Polastri

Round 1 – Karolina 39, Polastri 27. Let's see how the age difference might factor in. ... At least in the early moments, Karolina isn't looking to shabby on the feet until Polastri lands a hard kick to the stomach that seems to hurt Karolina. Polastri ups the attack but doesn't find the finishing shot. The action settles down after the sequence, and Karolina is being creative with her attack, throwing two spinning back punches that miss. So far, when Karolina closes in to punch, Polastri is landing hard body kicks. They clinch near the cage with about 90 seconds remaining, Karolina's back against the fence. It's not long before they separate and meet in the middle. Again Polastri is landing the body kick when Karolina closes distance. The round ends with Polastri lighting up Karolina on the feet. It could've been a finish, but time runs out. 10-9 Polastri for sure.

Round 2 – It won't be surprising if Polastri finds the finish this round. Let's see. ... The round starts with Polastri pressuring and Karolina on her back foot. It's relentless attack from Polastri with her hands, and Karolina is fading. Polastri senses she can't get the finish, though, and takes her foot off the gas to recover. Now Karolina lands a couple of nice punches. It's POSSIBILE Polastri's gas tank is fading. Her hands are low, and she's breathing with her mouth open, still 2:40 left. Karolina keeps eating shots from Polastri, though. It's more like picking apart Karolina, whose defense looks terrible on every attack. Karolina decides to close distance, clinch and take down Polastri, who is able to pop up quickly, but that's tiring. Karolina looks fresher, but she's just too slow. She's tough, but Polastri is still relatively in control and wins that round 10-9.

Round 3 – Nice show of respect as they hug before the round begins. Karolina isn't out of this. Polastri needs to be careful still. ... Karolina lands a straight right hand, her best punch of the fight, in the first minute and follows up with a couple of nice combs. Polastri needs to watch out! Karolina is digging deep with a lot of offense 3:30 left. Karolina is in reverse mode after getting hit hard. Karolina keeps running from Polastri, who is now in attack mode but being careful about it. A huge head kick from nowhere wobbles Karolina, more punches follow, and THAT IS IT. Beautiful finish for Polastri on Karolina, who deserves credit for being tough as nails.

Luan Lacerda vs. Saimon Oliveira

Round 1 – Oliveira was taken down in the early going, but did a nice job of quickly getting back to his feet where the two men spent about a minute in the clinch. Lacerda ended up winning the jostling for position and took down Oliveira where he landed some nice elbows as part of an effective ground-and-pound attack. That got Oliveira squirming, which allowed Lacerda to take his back. He immediately body-locked his opponent and worked for a rear-naked choke in the final minute. Lacerda easily took that first round 10-9.

Round 2 – Knowing he lost the first round, Oliveira comes out aggressive with his striking, and Lacerda responds in kind until he closed distance for a takedown after about a minute. Lacerda drops some big punches on his opponent, who tried standing but gave up side control. Lacerda is able to sneak into back control and immediately starts working for the rear-naked choke again. It's a wild scramble on the mat that ends up with Oliveira in guard and throwing punches until Lacerda goes for an armbar. Oliveira avoids it, but the wild scrambling continues. Oliveira postures up to throw elbows, which allows Lacerda to again try an armbar, and this time he locks it in tight. Oliveira screams in pain and taps out. Impressive ground work from Lacerda under pressure.
