Ijust returned from a 3-day Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. with fellow veterans. We received the welcome home we never got after Vietnam and the people behind this should be commended.
Our reception returning to Fargo was overwhelming. It started with our landing at Hector International Airport where a line of firetrucks were parked with their lights flashing. Then our plane rolled through a welcoming spray of water.
We then unloaded and were led out of the airport on buses with a motorcycle escort with flashing lights to the Fargodome, where we were welcomed home by a large crowd.
God bless, Fargo, for giving us the "welcome home" we never got during Vietnam. God bless your town and its wonderful citizens.
