LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. — A pedestrian who died on Friday night in Lexington County has been identified as a Chapin woman.
Master Trooper Mitchell Ridgeway with the South Carolina Highway Patrol said the crash happened around 9:35 p.m. on Mountain Drive west of Chapin. Ridgeway said a 2023 Kia SUV was heading east on Mountain Drive when it struck a pedestrian.
The pedestrian died at the scene of the crash. The Lexington County Coroner's Office later identified her as 59-year-old Tonya Mayers Bowers of Chapin. The driver involved in the crash was not injured. Ridgeway said the South Carolina Highway Patrol is still investigating the crash.
