The Blue Jays will go with their regular season ace, Kevin Gausman, when their first trip to the ALCS gets under way Sunday night at the Rogers Centre.

While no surprise, the assignment is the first indication of how manager John Schneider plans to roll out his rotation in the best-of-seven series against the Seattle Mariners.

It would be expected, then, that rookie sensation Trey Yesavage would follow in a Thanksgiving day Game 2 special as the Jays will look to replicate their work in the ALDS when they captured the first two games at home on their way to taking that best-of-five series against the Yankees by a 3-1 count.

Gausman relished that Game 1 opportunity – both for the environment at the Rogers Centre and the task of getting the post-season started on the right foot.
