For the first time since 2016, Salem’s Indigenous Peoples’ Day event will bring conversations about some of the top issues impacting the community to the Oregon State Capitol’s doorstep.
The 8th annual Indigenous Peoples’ Day celebration hosted by Indigenous Now, a Salem-based nonprofit, will take place at the State Capitol Mall this Monday, Oct. 13, from 1-6 p.m. The Capitol is located at 900 Court. St. N.E.
It will include speeches, food, performances, and about a dozen vendors selling arts and crafts and sharing information. There will also be free snacks and drinks for attendees, and the children’s activities table with books and crafts will be returning.
