Hickory put up 23 unanswered points in the third quarter Friday night to pull away from West Iredell for a 44-8 Western Foothills Conference victory.

Hickory quarterback Maddox McRee completed 8 of 13 passes for 159 yards and three touchdowns. Ronan Nieland’s two receptions both went for TDs and totaled 88 yards.

Jaheim Jenkins rushed for 69 yards and two TDs on 13 carries for the Red Tornadoes (7-1, 6-0).

Hickory held West Iredell (4-3, 2-3) to 189 total offensive yards. Amario Spence had 33 yards on 12 carries. JaBraylan Patterson was 15 of 24 passing for 133 yards.

Sebastian Bridges intercepted a pass for West Iredell, which trailed 21-8 at halftime.
