The UMass-Kent State matchup is gaining steam on social media for all the wrong reasons.

Kent State is ranked 134th in SP+ rankings while UMass: 136th out of 136th FBS teams in SP+ rankings. UMass has lost 16 straight games against FBS opponents (last win in Oct. 2023) while Kent State has lost 26 straight to FBS opponents (last win in Nov. 2022). Pam Maldonado from ESPN.com is calling this one almost too-funny-to-miss : “Both of these teams are bad. Like, bottom-of-the-barrel, can’t-move-the-ball bad.... the kind of matchup we’re dealing with: ugly, uncomfortable and hilariously contrarian.”
