At 1:06 p.m. on Saturday, the National Weather Service issued a high wind warning valid from Sunday 5 p.m. until Monday 2 p.m. for Dukes and Nantucket counties.
The weather service adds, “Northeast winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph expected.”
“Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Power outages are possible. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles,” adds the weather service. “Remain in the lower levels of your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Watch for falling debris and tree limbs. Use caution if you must drive.”
