(WJET/WFXP) – One person died in a house fire on East 24th Street in Erie early Sunday morning.
Erie Firefighters report crews were called out around 1:02 a.m. for a residential structure fire.
Engine 13 was the first to arrive on the scene and reported smoke at the back of the structure.
The victim was found during the search.
One person escaped and was taken to UPMC by EmergyCare. A dog was also rescued.
Crews had the fire put out by 1:08 a.m.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
