Gallagher, 33, has one more season after this remaining on his contract with a US$6.5 million salary-cap hit and as the longest-serving player on the team I do think he will finish his contract with the Canadiens. I also don’t think that’s to the detriment of younger players. Instead, it gives them more time to develop.
