New Delhi: Namibia scripted history on Saturday after they stunned T20 World Cup finalists South Africa in a one-off T20I match at the Wanderers Cricket Ground, Windhoek. Interestingly, this was the first meeting between the two sides in international cricket and ground was also hosting its first-ever international match.
By virtue of the last-ball victory, South Africa became the fourth full-member nation that Namibia has defeated in T20Is, after Ireland, Zimbabwe, and Sri Lanka. This is became the second time Namibia won on the last ball of a T20I game after they beat Zimbabwe at Bulawayo in 2022.
For the Proteas, this is the second time they have lost to an associate nation in T20Is, following their loss to the Netherlands at Adelaide in the 2022 World Cup.
