ITHACA, N.Y. (WETM) — A man has been arrested on an active arrest warrant, among other charges, on Friday morning, according to a release from the Ithaca Police Department (IPD).

Johnathan T. Byrd, 36, was arrested on Friday, Oct. 10, on an active arrest warrant for burglary in the second degree and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, police said.

Following his arrest, officers said that when they got to the police department, Byrd would not cooperate during processing and became aggressive.

As a result of Byrd's actions at the police department, he was also charged with obstructing governmental administration, the release stated. Byrd had his charges read to him in court and was sent to the Tompkins County Jail.
