WAYNESVILLE, Mo. — A woman faces a felony charge after a deceased fetus was found inside a cooler early Sept. 18 at a home in Waynesville.

According to online court dockets, Makayla Annette Haedt, born in 1996, of Virginia, is charged with first-degree harassment in Pulaski County Circuit Court.

Last month, Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) deputies responded to a residence around 2:48 a.m. after a man reported finding what he believed to be a fetus inside a cooler that had been left at his home, per the probable cause statement.

The statement says the man told deputies that Haedt, a longtime friend with whom he had occasionally been romantically involved, had brought the cooler to his home earlier that evening.
