The Election Commission has sought video footage and accurate translation of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's remarks against the state's Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), sources told India Today TV. The development came as West Bengal is set to vote in the Assembly polls next year.
According to highly placed sources, Banerjee, who has been in office since 2011, threatened to disclose the "corruption allegations" against CEO Manoj Aggarwal if he overstepped his limits.
She had also accused Aggarwal of threatening her officials at an event attended by state Chief Secretary Manoj Pant and minister Arup Biswas.
