Some poll workers in Orleans Parish were seen wearing official ID badges and lanyards with Darren Lombard's name, which is a violation of state law.
Lombard is the current Orleans Parish Clerk of Criminal Court and is running for re-election. Advertisement
He is being accused of violating Louisiana's law against electioneering, which states no election official shall wear any badge, button, pin, or other insignia identifying them with any political candidate or faction.
WDSU reached out to the Secretary of State's office, which said they are aware of the issue and that commissioners are being asked to remove the items in question.
WDSU asked the Secretary of State if Lombard would face any disciplinary action.
