Zohran Mamdani’s grand promises are a struggle bus

There is no such thing as a free bus.

Most New York City voters probably understand this intuitively, despite grand promises by Democratic mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani to eliminate bus fares. Sure enough, the self-described democratic socialist estimates his proposal would cost the city “just under” $800 million a year, which is “$50 million less than what New York spent on the new Buffalo Bills stadium.”
