TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - Hundreds gathered at Tom Brown Park on Saturday for the 28th annual Volunteer Fire Truck Round-Up, hosted by Leon County Government.

The event recognizes the contributions of volunteer firefighters serving unincorporated communities, including Bradfordville, Chaires-Capitola, Miccosukee, Lake Jackson, Lake Talquin and Woodville.

Each year, the county presents the Jack Harron Volunteer Firefighter of the Year Award, named after the longtime fire chief who helped start the event. This year’s honoree is Karl Hook, who has responded to more than 7,500 calls over 30 years of service.
