SOMETIMES, there is so much happening that a writer doesn’t know where to begin. The former Queen’s Park columnist for the former Thomson Newspapers had an answer for that. “Short notes on long subjects” was how Derek Nelson got to address a bunch of things all happening at once and do it briefly, which is not my forte but here goes.

There is much consternation among Canada’s Conservative opposition following Prime Minister Mark Carney’s second visit to the Trump White House this week.

Even before Carney left for Washington, Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre was all uppity, lecturing the PM against “no more losing.” Then, when Carney returned, Poilievre called the visit “pathetic” because there was nothing concrete to show for it.
