Orangeburg police claim they found pipe bombs in a 42-year-old man's vehicle following a chase.

Joseph Eddie Anthony Burgess, of 419 Lake Edisto Dr., Orangeburg, is charged with:

• Second-offense failure to stop for blue lights

• Possession of ammunition by a person convicted of certain crimes

• Kidnapping

• Possession of one gram or less of methamphetamine

• Possession of a destructive device

The incident began at 10 a.m. Oct. 2 near the intersection of Highland Street and Ellis Avenue, according to an Orange burg Department of Public Safety incident report. An officer reported seeing a silver Infiniti turn right off Nature Lane, cross the double yellow lines and continue driving in the lane of oncoming traffic.
