East Lansing — Fans trickled out of Spartan Stadium by halftime, and those who stayed booed Michigan State off the field after a disastrous outing Saturday against UCLA.

They had plenty to be upset about.

In what was supposed to be Michigan State’s best chance at a win in Big Ten play — a homecoming game in front of a friendly crowd for the first time in three weeks — the Spartans suffered a 38-13 defeat against UCLA. The Bruins scored 38 consecutive points to hand Michigan State its third straight loss in Big Ten play.
