Sheriff to hold press conference on body found in Westlake ditch

WESTLAKE, La. (KPLC) - A homicide investigation is underway after a woman’s body was found in a ditch Friday, officials said.

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office will hold a press conference that will be available for viewing on our livestream at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.

A trucker making a delivery to Phillips 66 found the body near Trousdale Road and called police around 11 a.m., Sheriff Stitch Guillory said.

Investigators are working to identify the victim, who is believed to be a white woman around 30 years old with tattoos, Sheriff Guillory said. Her death is being investigated as a homicide due to her injuries.
