BANGOR -- The Husson University Eagles hosted the Plymouth State Panthers on Saturday afternoon.

Early in the second quarter, the Eagles had held a 1-0 lead thanks to a score from Maddie Perkins. Deep into Panthers territory, Perkins sent a pass across the middle to Averi Baker who from right in front of the net, quickly shot before the goalkeeper had time to react, and she extended the Eagles lead to 2-0.

However, the Panthers kept fighting, and later in the second quarter they earned a corner insert attempt. It was Cassidy Leger who capitalized on that opportunity, quickly taking a shot after receiving the pass and bringing the game within one score.
