LAKE WORTH, Texas — Police are investigating after they say a woman was attacked by a dog at a park in North Texas this week.
A 47-year-old woman called 911 Oct. 8 to report that she'd been attacked by a brown pit bull dog at Dakota Dog Park in the 3200 block of Dakota Trail in Lake Worth, according to a post by the Lake Worth Police Department on X, formerly Twitter.
Officers found the woman, who was bleeding, and rendered aid until medical personnel arrived, officials say. The woman was taken to a local hospital by ambulance in stable but serious condition, officials say.
Animal control officers also responded to assist with the investigation, and officials searched for the dog and its owner but were unable to locate them, according to police.
