Emerald suffers another difficult loss on the road, going down big to Westside 43-7.
Coach Tad DuBose’s team had its work cut out for them, as it faced the reigning Upper State champions.
After a scoreless first quarter, Westside got on the board with the first play of the second quarter but missed the extra point. Westside scored a few minutes later with another touchdown pass. A successful two-point conversion put the Rams up 14-0.
Despite a strong effort by Emerald's defense in controlling the Rams during the second quarter, Westside was able to score as time expired in the half to go up 20-0.
“That really took a lot of air out of us,” Dubose said.
