WATERTOWN — The 2025 high school football season hasn't gone as well as hoped for De Smet despite the efforts of senior running back-linebacker Slayten Wilkinson.

The Bulldogs (2-5) continued their late surge to qualify for the state Class 9AA playoffs , however, cruising to a 36-0 win over Great Plains Lutheran on Friday, Oct. 10, at the Allen Mitchell Athletic Complex.
