ROSELAND, La. (WAFB) - The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has released new video and photos showing ongoing cleanup work in Tangipahoa Parish, more than six weeks after the massive fire at Smitty’s Supply facility sent oily runoff into nearby waterways.
The new visuals highlight recovery work at Lee’s Landing, where crews have been removing weathered oily waste from the Tangipahoa River.
Since the fire on August 24, 2025, EPA and partner agencies have recovered more than 10 million gallons of liquid waste and installed over 22,000 feet of containment boom.
