FARGO, N.D. (KFYR) - The top-ranked North Dakota State football team defeated No. 8 Southern Illinois 45-17 on Saturday. The Bison are now 6-0 on the season.
The Bison were anchored by another standout performance by quarterback Cole Payton who went 13-for-16 with 243 yards and one touchdown. Bryce Lance contributed on the air and through the ground with a 75-yard rushing touchdown. Lance also had his fourth receiving touchdown of the season.
The offense topped 500 yards in the win.
The Bison defense allowed just 10 points in the first half, and forced two fumbles in the game. Mandan’s Jaxon Duttenhefer recovered one of the fumbles.
NDSU added a fourth quarter interception to force a total of three turnovers in the game.
Next week the Bison will be on the road at Indiana State.
