(WHTM) -- Penn State senior quarterback Drew Allar went down late in the 4th quarter of Saturday's game against Northwestern.
The injury brought West Shore Field at Beaver Stadium to near-silence.
Allar had completed 11 for 18 passes with 131 yards and an interception.
He scrambled on a critical 3rd down, trailing the Wildcats 22-21 when he was brought down by a Northwestern defender.
Allar was helped off the field by trainers and rode off the sideline on a cart.
Backup Ethan Grunkemeyer entered the game in a 4th and 3 situation.
Northwestern won 22-21.
