Over a week after a 32-year-old man allegedly hung his three children by a pole at a cattle shed outside his residence at Nekpur village in Faridabad, and then died by suicide, two persons, including his sister-in-law, were arrested on Friday on charges of abetment to suicide and extortion.

Police had identified the deceased as Karmaveer and his two daughters, aged 6 and 12. His 8-year-old son, who was found alive, is in a hospital.

A team from Sector 48 Crime Branch arrested Karmaveer’s sister-in-law — whom the police have not named — from Faridabad and a man, Manjeet, from Mahendragarh. While the sister-in-law was sent to judicial custody by a court on Saturday, Manjeet was remanded to two-day police custody for further questioning.
