The Purdue Fort Wayne men's soccer team took over first place in the Horizon League with a 1-0 victory over IU Indy on Saturday in Indianapolis and now have 11 points in league play.

Purdue Fort Wayne improved to 6-0-5 (3-0-2 Horizon League).

The difference was a goal in the 49th minute. The score was set up by an Abe Arellano shot that was deflected out of bounds. A corner kick followed, also taken by Arellano, which the Jaguars couldn't clear from the box. It bounced around a bit and found Angel Rodriguez about 10 yards from the goal. His rocket of a shot deflected off a Jaguar defender for a goal. Ben Hissrich got the assist on the play.

The Mastodons now have six shutouts on the season. Sep Habibi made five saves in the game.

IU Indy fell to 4-5-3 (1-3-1 Horizon League).
