Arch Manning and Texas ruins John Mateer's return for Sooners in Red River Rivalry
Arch Manning threw for 166 yards and a touchdown as Texas upset No. 6 Oklahoma 23-6 in Saturday's Red River Rivalry. The most complete game for the Longhorns passer in his career with a signature win.
Sooners quarterback John Mateer returned after missing one game due to an injured hand, but struggled to find consistency. He finished going 20-of-38 for 202 yards with no touchdowns and three interceptions. Oklahoma started the game with a 6-3 halftime lead, but was shutout in the second half.
Texas opened up the third quarter with a 12-yard touchdown from Manning to DeAndre Moore Jr. The 14-play, 75-yard scoring drive put the Longhorns up 10-6 midway through the quarter. Ryan Niblet
