MCEWEN, Tenn. ( WSMV /Gray News) - Authorities say 16 people died in the blast at a Tennessee explosives factory.

The tragic update comes a day and a half after a blast leveled Accurate Energetic Systems, an explosive processing plant in McEwen, Tennessee.

“We have contacted all 16 families that we feel was a part of this tragedy,” Humphreys County Sheriff Chris Davis said Saturday evening during a press conference.

During the press conference, authorities said counseling will be available at local schools in the wake of the tragedy.
