( 25News Now ) - In the biggest game of the season to date and potentially all season, #17 Illinois had a chance to make a statement to the country with #1 Ohio State coming to Champaign, but the Buckeyes capitalized on key Illini mistakes on their way to a 34-16 victory.

With only 47 rushing yards tallied up, Luke Altmyer threw the ball 44 times (completing 30) for 248 passing yards and a TD. The big difference was the turnover battle, in which the Buckeyes scored 21 of their points off of Orange and Blue turnovers.

Now 5-2 overall and 2-2 in the Big Ten, Illinois is off next week and next goes on the road October 25th to take on the 5-1 Washington Huskies.
