IRONDALE, Ala. —
Irondale city leaders held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Saturday morning for the new public library on Grants Mill Road, marking the first city-owned building opening in more than 52 years.

The grand opening celebration included live music and book signings by special guest authors.
Irondale Mayor James Stewart said, "This is a place where everybody can come participate, be a part of it, get knowledge, be in community, and we are really looking forward to them taking advantage of all of these wonderful amenities in this state-of-the-art facility."
The library is the third finished project in the city's series of new investments.
