(FOX40.COM) — The Greater Sacramento Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention hosted its annual Out of the Darkness walk in Placer County on Saturday morning. • Video above: Sacramento State Out of the Darkness walk 2025

The event took place in Railhead Park in Auburn, where many mental health resources were tabled to give attendees a chance to learn about what's available.

According to the AFSP OOTD website, over 200 people signed up to participate in this year's walk, with 31 teams signed up. This community event raised over $22,000, a large portion will go back to Placer County to plan for next year's walk.

Christian Cuoto, board member for the Greater Sacramento Chapter, was this year's "walk chair." He said he was proud of his team and Placer County as a whole.
